Dr. Felicidad Benchie Barias-Fortuno has Doctorate in Business Administration from Aquinas University in the Philippines. Accounting was her major course in the baccalaureate degree at the University of Nueva Caceres, where she also earned her Master’s in Business Administration. It was there where she started her career in teaching.

 She worked as a faculty in the College of Business teaching Marketing, Management and Finance courses for 9 years. After which she was invited to teach in Ateneo de Naga University for 11 years under the College of Business and Accountancy. Aside from teaching in the undergraduate and graduate school, she holds concurrent position as the Program Director of Legal Management Department and Hospital and Home Health Care Management Department. She was actively involved in the Entrepreneurship Program of the College of Business where she handled the Business plan courses, assisted students in conceptualizing, planning, strategizing and monitoring their small businesses as their alternative practicum course as well as adviser to numerous MBA students for their thesis. She spearheaded the Community extension program of the college and later it was institutionalized by the university.

In 2009 she was invited to work in AMA International University-Bahrain under BSBI of the College of Administrative and Financial Services. She taught in the MBA and undergraduate program and held the position of Head of the Accounting Department. She held many committee chairmanship one of which was as Committee chair in the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department of the university. She joined University of Maryland University College- Europe Division teaching hybrid courses at the US Navy College and became a Trainer for the Associate of Accounting Technician (AAT) at Almoalem Institute. She was the Coordinator of the Management Program at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College of Business while teaching Finance and business management courses on the other hand. She has been working in the higher education institution most of her life and has been dynamically involved in many professional and civic organizations.

Presently she is the Area 75 Director of Division A, District 20 of the Toastmasters International. She is a business consultant, a guidance counselor, a public speaker , a social entrepreneur, and a learner.
